During the Expo panel discussion, the presence of Marcela Comte Calderón, a representative of the Selknam people, opened a new space for remembrance: in the 19th century, members of the Fuegian ethnic group were displayed as living exhibits at the World's Fairs of the time, in so-called human zoos. Today, more than a century later, their voices return to reclaim dignity and truth.
First expedition through Tierra del Fuego retracing the route taken by the priest and ethnographer Martin Gusinde during his documentation of the last Hain ritual of the Selk'nam people. Led by Hema'ny Molina, Selk'nam leader from Chile, the journey crosses a wild territory using a mechanical and chemical replica of the photographic technology with which Gusinde documented one of the last Selk'nam ceremonies.
