Cielos del Infinito is a transdisciplinary festival for experimental arts, held annually in the Magallanes region and Chilean Antarctica. Since its founding in 2008, it has established itself as the southernmost arts gathering in the world. It maintains a close relationship with the territory and its communities. The programme encompasses performing arts, fine arts, film, music, performance, and hybrid research and art projects. Its aim is to democratise access to culture in historically isolated regions and to foster dialogue between local, national, and international artists.

Within this framework, Cielos del Infinito is a strategic partner of El Ojo Salvaje. The festival serves as a central co-producer of the expeditions and as a decisive mediator in dialogue with local communities and institutions. This collaboration has made it possible to bring the project into the lesser-explored areas of the Fuegian territory.

In its 17th edition (2025), the festival presented performances, gatherings, and educational formats in cities such as Punta Arenas, Puerto Williams, and Puerto Natales. All activities are freely accessible.

Partners · NetworkIN SITUEuropean Cultural Platform

IN SITU is a European cultural platform dedicated to artistic work in public space and non-conventional contexts. Co-funded by the European Commission, it coordinates an international network of artists, curators, and communities, and promotes site-specific artistic practices and cultural innovation beyond established art circuits.

Key partners include Lieux Publics (France), FiraTàrrega (Spain), and other arts institutions in Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Austria — all recognised across Europe as references for the production and circulation of site-specific work.

IN SITU is currently a cooperative partner of El Ojo Salvaje. The collaboration strengthens the European grounding of the project and supports the development of partnerships and international circulation.

Partners · Research ArchiveSophia UniversityTokyo, Japan

Sophia University (上智大学) has gained international recognition for its library and historical archives: the holdings of the Kirishitan Bunko Library trace back to the legacy of European missionaries.

Various sources suggest that Martín Gusinde visited Japan following his stay in Patagonia. For this reason, a one-month research residency at Sophia University is planned for October 2026 as part of El Ojo Salvaje's research. The aim is to explore a previously little-examined period in the life of Father Gusinde through the university's archival holdings.

In this way, the project seeks to make visible the connections between Europe, Chile, and Japan, and their significance for the broader anthropological thinking of the 20th century.
